Jeans manufacturer Levi’s has announced a collaboration with local urban jazz-pop band Maliq & D’Essentials for the company’s 144th anniversary event in Indonesia on May 20.
During the event, an exclusive live performance by Maliq & D’Essentials will be streamed via Levi’s Indonesia’s official Facebook page.
The performance is part of the firm’s worldwide anniversary celebration dubbed ‘501 Day’.
“Levi’s believes that music can open the creativity faucet and each people’s self-expression.
That is the motivation behind our new collaboration with Maliq & D’Essentials in Indonesia, the pop band that has been known widely; [a band] that poses as a perfect representation of our definition of originality,” said Daniel Sjorgen, country manager of Levi’s Indonesia.
Maliq & D’Essentials vocalist Angga Puradiredja conveyed the band’s excitement in collaborating with the jeans manufacturer. “The partnership with Levi’s feels natural because both of us are celebrating the same thing: self-expression and the power of music,” he said.
Aside from the upcoming anniversary performance, Levi’s and Maliq & D’Essentials are also set to roll out other music-based collaboration projects in 2017 with further details set to be announced soon. Source: thejakartapost.com
